Durango Wildlife

from $100.00

In landscape photography, you are at the mercy of the weather, conditions, lighting and more. This is never more true than during fall in Colorado. When the aspens turn their vibrant technicolor, a last gasp before they succumb to the harsh Colorado winter, they are often described as Colorado Gold. But I think this moniker speaks less about their color and more about how hard it can be for conditions to line up, such that you may strike gold. In this image, taken during the fall of ’23, not only did the aspens put on one final display, but breaking clouds allowed rays of light to illuminate the foreground pasture in one last spectacular show.
